Black Me – Screen Off for YouTube
One major problem that we all face with using the YouTube app is its ability to play songs when the phone is locked. This is extremely annoying as a simple touch on the screen can pause or change the music or completely stop it. I love listening to my favourite songs when I’m jogging on the treadmill but one slight change of the phone position completely changes the song and breaks my flow.
The Black Me application offers you the possibility to turn off the screen without interrupting the current activity. It is a very simple application to use. With a click you turn off your device’s display and with your favourite gesture you can also turn it on. You can use this application with any application, for example to watch videos without interruptions, to record long videos saving battery or simply to prevent the current activity being stopped.
The Black Me app also offers you a special feature dedicated to YouTube’s app. By enabling it, a special notification will be available automatically every time you run YouTube. This will allow you to play and listen to your favorite videos with your device’s screen turned off.
Some of the special features the Black Me app provides are:
It has a very clear and simple design that allows easy navigation through the app. You can activate this service with just a click. You can use multiple gestures to unlock your device. You can disable the black screen while receiving calls on your device. A floating button will always over apps to turn off the display. The app will restart the service automatically when you restart your phone. The app allows you to have the implementation of an exclusive service dedicated to YouTube app.
The Black Me app is designed to work better on AMOLED displays. Please notice that if your display is not AMOLED, it will not be completely turned off, but the app will work anyway. It is not guaranteed full Android O (8.0+) support. This app doesn’t collect any private data and, uses accessibility services.
The Black Me app requires permissions to draw over other apps to simulate off screen. It would also require access to your phone state to disable the service when user receives a call. Lastly, it would also require access to run at startup to start the service if the app was running before shutting down.
